The “Defining Fintech Initiative” (DFI) is an inaugural joint-venture between Howard University (HU), the University of Michigan (UM), and Fintech In Action (FIA). FIA is a coalition of firms dedicated to accelerating progress, innovation, and opportunity for Black students and professionals in finance and fintech.


During this five-week program, students will undergo three weeks of foundational fintech training followed by a two-week collaborative competition. This program begins Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 7pm – 9pm ET and will meet every Thursday until the finale on April 14.

**Covid-permitting, the top three teams from HU+UM will join forces with the nations’ top firms on Wall Street in mid-May**
